  About the Journal

Journal of Association of Pulmonologist of Tamilnadu [JAPT] was started in the year 2018 by Association of Pulmonologist of Tamilnadu. The first issue was published on August 2018, under leadership of the Editor in chief Dr.Narasimhan R and Editor Dr.B.Rajagopalan and it was released in our association state conference TAPPCON 2018, Coimbatore. The JAPT publishes high-quality articles in fields of respiratory medicine, interventional pulmonology, tuberculosis, critical care, and sleep medicine to foster advances in translational research and clinical practice. The journal has original articles that address questions relevant to patient care and health care delivery. Additional contents include focused reviews that update readers on epidemiology, classification, management of clinical problems, and the safe, efficacious application of procedures. This journal also publishes case reports, research letters and pictorial quiz with a good clinical content.

Digital Archiving

Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.

Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.

CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.

Ahead of Print policy

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.

Advertisements

While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content:

  • "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.
  • The Editorial Board has full and final approval over the content of all advertisements.
  • Advertisers will never be shown any manuscripts or other content prior to publication.

  About the APT
The association of pulmonologist of Tamil Nadu [APT] was formed and has been registered under the Tamilnadu society registration act of 2016. The mission is to provide a robust and meaningful platform in terms of education, research, interaction and cohesive knowledge sharing for all the post graduates and thoracic specialists in the state. We have a forum to share the expertise and knowledge among the pulmonologists of this region and encourage in advancing the knowledge and practice of pulmonary medicine. We are conducting an annual state conference as TAPPCON in different regions of Tamil Nadu along with Puducherry Chest Association. We organize fellowship programs and conduct hands on training, workshops in recent advances in our speciality. We are also conducting "Basics and Beyond'' CME for first year postgraduate in pulmonary medicine and a APT Gold medal exam for the final year students of pulmonary medicine. We are publishing the Journal in name of JAPT [Journal of association of pulmonologist of Tamilnadu] triannual. The APT Association will also co-ordinate with other regional, national and international societies of our field to promote the objectives of our association. https://aptchest.com/
  Scope of the journal

The JAPT aims to enhance the respiratory, sleep and critical care practitioners to champion the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the chest diseases through education, communication and research. It also connects the health care professionals in the field of thoracic medicine and interventions to the latest clinical research through the JAPT journal.
